Frequently asked questions

What is the Nutrition score?

One number from 0 to 100 that reflects how you've been eating lately. Every scan adds to it, and recent meals matter most.

Do less healthy meals hurt my score?

Scan them anyway. Consistency counts: logging every meal gives you a truer score and better advice, and skipping meals doesn't help.

Why does my score drop if I stop scanning?

Your score reflects your recent habits. After a break it slowly drifts, and a few scans bring it back up to date.

What can I scan?

Meals and drinks, the inside of your fridge or your groceries, and supplements. Packaged items with a visible barcode are read automatically.

What makes a good photo?

A clear, well-lit shot from above, with the whole plate in view. Avoid photos with people in them.

How accurate are calories and macros?

They're estimates from your photo. Plus members can tap Refine calories and answer a few quick questions to make them more accurate.

How many scans do I get?

5 a day on the free plan and 20 a day with NUCO Plus. Limits reset every 24 hours.

What does NUCO Plus add?

More scans, recipes from your fridge, a daily meal plan with a shopping list, step-by-step cooking and calorie refinement.

How do I cancel Plus?

In Profile → Manage Plus subscription, or in your iPhone's Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

Is my data private?

Yes. We never sell your data, and you can delete your account and everything in it from Profile at any time. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Is NUCO medical advice?

No. NUCO is a nutrition companion. Talk to your doctor before changing your diet, medication or supplements.
